Deer directing traffic. lol They stopped traffic for about 1 min, they weren't bothered about cars at all.

Mother bear with 2 cubs at Crane Flat.

Baby bear

I spotted this bear near El Capitan in the picnic area. He had his eye on me, while I had mine on him. lol

Same bear

Same bear

The falls are completely dried up now! Nada nuffin' really... There were some pretty good swimming holes in the river though, now THAT was cold and refreshing!

I hiked to Taft Point for the first time, and took these next few photos just to prove I was there. lol

Maybe it's just me, but looking over this railing ALL THE WAY DOWN INTO THE VALLEY below was a smidgin' intimidating. lol

This bear walked right out in front of me as I was driving towards Valley View. I told Rick to grab the camera, he did as soon as he could. He got a few photos of it, so here is one for now.

The video camera is a cheap one, so the color and quality isn't so great, but at least you get to see how it is up there this time of year.. NOW is the time to go! (just not next weekend when it's Memorial Day!!!).

Here is the entrance driving into the valley where Hwy 120 & 140 meet.

I went camping outside of the park because all the surrounding campgrounds were full!! One mile before you get to the 120 entrance, there is a street on the left called "Evergreen". This will take you to Hetch Hetchy etc... but about 6 miles down the road, there is a campground called Diamond O (not part of Yosemite Park).... a very very nice cozy place. A buddy of mine and I stayed there by ourselves the first night, and then had a group of Boy Scouts come up the following night (I highly recommend the place!) Very well taken care of (better then Yosemite Park takes care of things).

We hiked to Nevada Falls Saturday morning (May 16, 2009). Instead of going up the Vernal trail, we decided to take the John Muir trail instead so we wouldn't hit the Mist Trail early in the morning and freeze to death. lol It was a good decision as it was in the afternoon when we came back down the Mist trail side. It was sooooo refreshing getting wet when we were sooo hot! It was a welcome relief.
